Why I enjoy photography.

Jill maintained the pose despite the efforts of Millie
Jill maintained her composure despite Millie's attention.

The photo of Jill I used for my Vallentine's Day tribute was one of a set of ten I took of my wife wearing a new dress last weekend. She hadn't seen any of the results of the sitting until the image I selected of her appeared yesterday. The photo above is one of the several others that were interrupted by our dog Millie; that is until she was kindly persuaded to buzz off. There is nothing I enjoy more than photographing Jill. She is usually patient with my directions and the results are invariably pleasing, unless she blinks. Thank you my darling for being such a cooperative model. I look forward to another photographic session with you very soon.

About the writer

Check out each month's subject index on the Calendar Page for all my "common-man" monologues about survival in 21st century Australia – plus a little history occasionally.  An original essay is added most days as part of an undertaking to write at least several million words. Zzzzzzzz!
